On May 27, 2025, the School of Textile Science and Engineering held the graduation thesis defense for its 2023 cohort of international master’s students in the academic lecture hall of the Administration Building at the Sunshine Campus. Prof. Jiang Huiyu, Dean of the School, chaired the session; the defense committee comprised Associate Prof. Li Daiqi,Dr. Zhao Zhong, Dr. Yang Bo, Dr. Tan Sirui andDr. Yi Zijun.
A total of 17 international candidates presented their work—14 from the School of Textile Science and Engineering, one from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and two from the School of Materials Science and Engineering. Each student systematically reported on research background, methodology, experimental data, innovative findings and prospective applications, followed by on-site responses to questions posed by the committee. After evaluation and anonymous voting, all 17 candidates passed the defense and were recommended for the conferment of master’s degrees.
In her closing remarks, Dean Jiang emphasized that the education of international students is a flagship of the School’s global engagement, and pledged continuous refinement of training programs to cultivate high-caliber textile professionals for Belt and Road partner countries. The well-organized defense marked the successful completion of the 2023 international master’s program at the School.
