With graduation around the corner, the 2023 cohort of international master’s students in the School of Textile Science and Engineering faces a decisive moment between careers and doctoral study. While pairing students with leading enterprises to expand employment options, the school has also launched a “Ph.D. Application Taskforce” that unites supervisors, international-student coordinators and the International Office to deliver one-stop support—from university targeting and statement polishing to mock interviews.
Three students have already won fully-funded admission to premier 985 and Double First-Class universities:Rubel Mia will pursue a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at Tongji University;MD Hasib Mia has been accepted into the Ph.D. program in Materials Science and Engineering at Donghua University;Lengamo Lenteta will conduct Ph.D. research in Textile Science and Engineering at Dalian Polytechnic University.
From Wuhan to Shanghai and Dalian, they will carry the solid research foundation built at the college to broader academic arenas. Moving forward, the college will continue to refine its dual-track support system—bridging employment and doctoral pathways—to help more international students achieve seamless progression from bachelor’s to master’s to Ph.D. studies in China, and to cultivate high-caliber textile and materials professionals for Belt and Road partner countries.
